What is
the vendee Globe ?

An extraordinary round-the-world sailing race

Through the Vendée Globe, breathe in the sea air and immerse yourself in the race with the skippers involved in this amazing adventure.

The Vendée Globe is a single-handed sailing race held every 4 years. The skippers have to complete a 43,000 km trip round the world, following a precise route. They set off from the port of Les Sables d'Olonne, skirt the coast of Africa, go along Antarctica, sail up the coast of South America and return to their point of departure. Along the way, the sailors double three capes:

  • The Cape of Good Hope,
  • Cape Leeuwin and
  • Cape Horn.

This race is exceptional and unique: they have to sail around the world single-handed, non-stop and with no assistance.
